With Open Doors
Three evenings when the house stayed open to anyone: the opening of the "Femeia fără mână" installation, the residents' public presentations and two documentary screenings, free of charge.
From 6 to 8 October 2023, each evening from 19:00 to 22:00, the gates of Casa Jakab Toffler stayed open to anyone who wanted to come in. Entry was free. The event was part of Celebrarea orașului, the city's celebration programme.
Friday opened the installation "Femeia fără mână" by Monotremu and Alexandru Ciobotă — a work that grew out of an intervention by the house's co-founders, who added floral prostheses to the mutilated "Femeia cu strugure" statue in the Fabric district.
Saturday belonged to the residents: Vasile Leac and Vlad Marko Tolea spoke publicly about their work within the Social Fabric programme. On Sunday the three days closed with screenings of the documentaries "The Venice Syndrome" (Andreas Pichler, 2012) and "Rent Rebels" (2014), followed by a discussion with guests from Bloc Zero.
The event was organised together with Minitremu, the building's homeowners' association and Bloc Zero.
