The Architecture Students' Practice, 1st Edition
Twelve first-year students from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism spent two weeks at Casa Jakab Toffler: one week of surveying and design, one of building.
The first edition of the practice for first-year students of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism in Timișoara took place at Casa Jakab Toffler between 4 and 17 July 2022. Twelve students worked here for two weeks: the first devoted to documentation and design, the second to building.
In the first week they drew up a survey of the courtyard and made a point-cloud scan of it, then developed proposals for the shared space — a pavilion, a composter, a garden, and modular tables drawn after the pieces of the Katamino, Tangram and Tetris games. The results were presented on 62 boards. The second week meant actual building and fitting-out.
Running in parallel was an urban anthropology workshop guided by Laura Panait and Silviu Medeșan, authors of the volume "cARTier. Intervenții periferice".
